Everything is Electric

£1,326.00

Everything is Electric is a blue and white wall sculpture formed from twelve hand-cast plaster triangles. Inspired by origami and the layered geometry of papercuts, the work transforms delicate paper-like forms into a robust, stone-like surface, finished with an intensely matt ultra-blue pigment.

About:
Everything is Electric is a blue and white wall sculpture composed of twelve hand-cast, tessellating plaster triangles, designed with precision so that each element fits together to form a continuous geometric surface.

The work developed from Gregory’s ongoing exploration of intricate papercuts and takes particular inspiration from the folded geometry of origami. Here, however, the fragility of paper is translated into a robust, stone-like material, retaining the delicacy and repetition of folded forms while giving them physical weight and permanence.

The result of nine months of experimentation and exploration, the work is finished with a matt ultra-blue pigment whose intense colour and surface quality are particularly striking when experienced in person.
