ABOUT

Circa1990 is the studio practice of artist Gregory Daines, established in 2016. Originally rooted in illustration and printmaking, the practice has evolved to encompass papercut, sculpture, painting and mixed media.

Gregory’s work explores architecture, pattern and the familiar visual language that surrounds us. He is particularly interested in how forms and ideas can be layered, transformed and recontextualised, and in the relationship between precise construction and the handmade.

He has exhibited in London and taken part in public art projects including The World Reimagined, as well as exhibiting with Hypha Curates at A Moveable Feast. Gregory is Chair of Form&Thought, an artist collective raising the profile of art in Ashford, Kent.
