With Christmas fresh in our minds, January is a good time to create Christmas card designs. We’re in tier 4 Covid lockdown restrictions, so we’re unable to research away from home, however many of the museums and galleries in London have a catalogue of online resources and photographs of their collections that you can study. Browsing the 1920s advertisements from a century ago, we were inspired to create a Lino print, featuring the mono coloured prints popular at the time. Incorporating hand-cut serif lettering and line illustrations, this design features a reindeer sitting at night on a patch of berries. We particularly like how the score cuts on the coat of the deer show up in the print to emulate the hair on the animal.
