The cockerel crows on the morning of a new year.

This lino cut was started a few months ago when I wanted to experiment with a soft cut lino material. I quickly discovered that the material does not work for my practice; it is difficult to mark with a pencil or carbon paper, and tends to snap rather than crumble away. Regardless, having started it I wanted to finish it, so on New Years eve, I carved the background and printed a short run in black ink.
