Like hundreds of artists across the south east, Circa1990 opened our doors to the public for the very first time in June this year.

We built the Circa1990 studio in lockdown in 2020. Getting it ready for opening day meant all those small jobs I had ignored were finally finished. I also took the opportunity to kit out the studio with picture shelves, print some digital illustrations at my preferred fine art printer and frame several more prints so they were all looking fabulous.

I sanded back my counters and gave them a fresh oiling, removing the last two years off staining from paints, inks and pigments and put out the bunting and posters beside the road.

The visitors who came were treated to a hands on cyanotype workshop when the sun was shining and all were invited to see my work and the processes behind each print. The feedback was excellent and it’s been very rewarding to see the reactions to my work and hear such good feedback.
